Ingredients

  • tablespoons sesame oil toasted sesame oil preferred for deeper flavor
  • 12 potstickers frozen or fresh dumplings work well
  • 3 cups chicken bone broth low-sodium, high-quality broth recommended
  • 5 green onions thinly sliced (use both white and green parts)
  • tablespoons soy sauce regular or low-sodium based on preference
  • tablespoons rice vinegar unseasoned for balanced acidity
  • Chili onion crunch to taste (adds heat and texture as garnish)

Equipment

  • 1 Large skillet Wide enough to hold potstickers in a single layer and deep enough to contain the broth
  • 1 Spoon or spatula Used for turning potstickers evenly and gently stirring the soup

Method

  1. Warm the sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat until fragrant, then place the potstickers in the pan and cook, turning frequently, until all sides are golden.
  2. Carefully pour in the bone broth, then add the sliced green onions, soy sauce, and rice vinegar to the skillet.
  3. Bring the soup to a gentle simmer and let it cook for several minutes so the flavors meld and the potstickers heat through completely.
  4. Ladle the soup into bowls and finish with chili onion crunch on top just before serving.
