Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork sausage ground, breakfast-style, fully thawed
  • 16 oz sour cream full-fat, room temperature for smooth mixing
  • 8 oz Velveeta cheese finely cubed or shredded for easy melting
  • 4 oz muenster cheese shredded, mild and creamy
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder evenly measured for balanced flavor
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder fine texture for smooth blending
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce adds savory depth
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley for color and mild herb flavor

Equipment

  • 1 12-inch non-stick skillet Ideal for browning sausage evenly without sticking
  • 1 Meat masher Helps break sausage into small, even crumbles more easily than a spatula
  • 2 Mixing bowls Used for combining cooked sausage with remaining ingredients
  • 1 9-inch square baking dish Perfect size for baking the dip until bubbly; a 9×13-inch dish can be used if doubling the recipe

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a square baking dish.
  2. Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until fully browned, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks.
  3. Drain off excess grease and transfer the cooked sausage to a large mixing bowl.
  4. Add sour cream, Velveeta, muenster cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and parsley to the bowl and stir until evenly combined.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Bake uncovered until the dip is hot and bubbling throughout.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow it to rest briefly before serving.

Notes

This is the kind of dip that pulls people into the kitchen before you even announce it’s ready. Warm, cheesy, and nostalgic, it’s perfect for game days, potlucks, or cozy nights when comfort food is non-negotiable.
