Ingredients

  • 10 cups seedless watermelon cubes cut into chunks and frozen solid for at least 24 hours
  • 2 –4 tablespoons maple syrup pure maple syrup, adjust based on fruit sweetness
  • 1 large lime juiced (freshly squeezed for best flavor balance)
  • ¼ cup fresh mint leaves loosely packed, basil can be substituted
  • 1 ½ cups filtered water cold, or replace with sparkling water if desired

Equipment

  • 1 High-speed blender A powerful blender with a tamper handles frozen fruit smoothly; a food processor can be used if needed
  • 1 Measuring cups Used for accurately measuring fruit and liquid
  • 1 Citrus juicer Optional tool to extract lime juice more easily
  • 4 Serving glasses Tall glasses help showcase the icy slush texture

Method

  1. Allow the frozen watermelon pieces to rest at room temperature briefly so they soften slightly, then place them into a blender along with maple syrup, lime juice, herbs, and water.
  2. Use the pulse setting to break down the watermelon, then blend until the mixture becomes thick and icy, adjusting sweetness or liquid as needed.
  3. Pour the slush evenly into serving glasses and enjoy immediately while frosty.
