Ingredients

  • 1 lb salmon fillets thawed if frozen, skin-on preferred for searing
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning salt level adjusted based on blend strength
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil used for pan-searing the fish
  • ¼ cup salted butter melted until smooth and pourable
  • ¼ cup honey liquid honey for easy whisking
  • ¼ teaspoon Cajun seasoning added to sauce for layered spice
  • 3 cloves garlic freshly minced for strongest flavor
  • 1 lemon sliced for garnish and brightness
  • 2 tablespoon fresh parsley finely chopped for finishing

Equipment

  • 1 Non-stick skillet (10–12 inch) Provides even heat and prevents the salmon from sticking while searing
  • 1 Small mixing bowl Used to combine the honey butter sauce ingredients smoothly
  • 1 Whisk Helps blend butter, honey, garlic, and seasoning into a glossy sauce
  • 1 set Measuring Cups and Spoons Ensures accurate portioning of seasoning, honey, butter, and oil
  • 1 Spatula or fish turner Thin and wide design makes flipping delicate salmon easier
  • 1 Kitchen tongs or tweezers Optional tool for checking and removing any remaining pin bones

Method

  1. Coat the salmon evenly with Cajun seasoning, pressing it gently onto all sides of the fillets.
  2. Warm the olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  3. Whisk the melted butter, honey, garlic, and Cajun seasoning together in a small bowl until fully combined.
  4. Place the salmon in the hot skillet flesh-side down and cook until a deep golden crust forms, about 3 minutes.
  5. Turn the fillets over and continue cooking until the fish turns opaque and flakes easily, about 3 more minutes.
  6. Lower the heat to medium-low and spoon half of the honey butter sauce over the salmon, letting it warm and lightly caramelize.
  7. Remove from heat and drizzle the remaining sauce over the salmon, then finish with parsley and lemon slices.

Notes
